The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is one of my hubby’s favorite series. He has been trying to get me to read it for ages. He stuffed it my bag when I was going on a trip by myself with hours of reading time ahead of me and said, “Just try it.” I’m glad he finally forced me to read it! It was a fantastic adventure. The book itself and the series are very long, so we get lots of detail about every character, scene and setting. All the detail can be a little overwhelming, but at the same time I love “knowing” all the characters so well. Hubby tells me this series is infamous for having a very large number of characters that float in and out of the books as the series progresses. This was why I tried to fight off his very aggressive suggestions of reading this series for so long. Now seeing how much detail is there for each character, I don’t feel like the characters will get jumbled up in my head. They are each very different. I can definitely say I will continue with series and I look forward to it!
