This will be an advancement I watch very closely! Sounds like they are ways away from doing human trials yet, but maybe in 10-20 years it could be offered as a first line treatment. I wonder how long the average monkey arrived at their “spontaneous functional recover plateau.” The traditional model states about 1 year post injury, but there’s a lack of research past 1 year, so can we really say that gains cease then? No. So at what point do the gains slow? Is that the place where these autografts would be implanted? How long does it take to grow the cells to a point where they can be implanted.? At what temperature do these cells need to be stored once created? Would a hospital need special equipment to store the cells? So many questions yet to be answered! What questions do you have going forward?
