The writing itself was very good– just descriptive enough to add flare, but not Dickens, thank goodness. I didn’t like the whole plot. It felt like a summer beach read, which I don’t read out of habit. Mostly because reading is supposed be an escape from the ordinary, which reading about first world problems is way too ordinary. Besides that, the drama felt like I was being forced to listen to a girlfriend complain about her melodramatic family. I do that for girlfriends because I love them, not for fun. Didn’t fully connect with any of the characters either. As a physical therapist, I appreciated the rehab discussions and could tell the author did her homework there. Overall, take it to the beach, read it, then leave it there in the sand or hand it off to a fellow beach goer.
