This is a great video for any and all educational purposes. Very detailed, but explains well enough that Joe Schmoe Public could understand too. Bookmark it for later!
I will say that in school I had a really hard time keeping the 2 types of aphasia straight, especially when you add in the old, dead guy names too– Wernicke and Broca’s aphasias. The textbook definitions never really worked for me. So I simplified it: expressive aphasics can’t express well, receptive aphasics can’t receive my talking well. As the video states, this is a very simplified version, but it works well enough clinically for me. All my speechie friends will probably give me a good talking to now. hehe
