My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I loved the story in this book! It was well paced with plenty of adventure and action. The descriptions I can imagine were beautiful; however, they were, appropriately, from the prospective of a rabbit. I have no idea what all those plants that were used to describe the scenes look like, so much of the magic was lost on me. Although that did not help my mind’s eye to visualize the setting, I did feel it was brilliant on part of the author. I enjoyed that Lapine, rabbit language, was peppered into the story and a glossary of the words attached at the end. I felt that further placed me into the rabbit world, but wasn’t overused to the point that I was looking up every other word. I also loved that he used rabbits in this story. Rabbits are not a species I would expect to have adventures, so coming alongside a rabbit style adventure was definitely different and over all very pleasant. I would really like to check out the movie as well. The ending was so satisfying it felt as if the story had been wrapped up with a big red bow on top. Overall, stellar!
