My rating: 2 of 5 stars
As my Wheel-of-Time-Superfan husband warned me, this installment was a complete and total slog. I don’t think the plot moved ahead an inch through the entire 800+ pages. Maybe, a nano-milimeter, but that’s it. I will give it that every great fantasy adventure I’ve read has at least a section of a book, if not an entire book like this. It was devoted to political maneuvering, which I’m sure will be important to line up action down the road. Harry Potter had the super long camping trip in the final book…. Inheritance had Brisingr…. I would advise just reading the inner fly/whet-your-tongue bit on Goodreads and then maybe the last 2 pages before the epilogue and you’re all set for the next book.
