I’ve been working on my nutrition, so I thought I’d explore what I should be eating for my brain’s health.
So to summarize, to properly fuel my brain, I need to
— fruits (specifically blueberries)
— turmeric/curcurmin (curcurmin is what makes turmeric yellow, in case you were wondering what that was like I was)
— coffee or tea (for the caffeine… in moderation of course)
— red wine (again, in moderation)
— dark chocolate (ditto)
— sugary junk (cakes, candies, soda, etc.)
— fatty foods (dairy, red meats– beef, pork)
Other things to consider
— select a less fatty oil to cook in– olive, sunflower or coconut oil instead of butter or lard.
— eat more chewy, crunchy foods instead of soft, gummy ones (think raw fruits and veggies instead of cooked ones)
— intermittent fasting: skip a meal now and again
— reduce the size of your serving by 20-30%. So instead of getting a heaping ladle of mac-n-cheese, just do a level ladle-full.
— take a multivitamin to cover all those micronutrients you miss, because I know I don’t “eat the rainbow” everyday like you’re supposed to get all those nutrients
Definitely some things to ponder. I’m still tweaking my diet and I certainly learned some things on those videos to add to my nutrition journey!
