Joni, PT and vestibular patient, over at the dizzymeblog shared the following resources on migraine.
Which led me to this:
mvertigo.com (a forum for folks with migraneous vertigo)
In my experience, half the battle with folks with vertigo is reassuring them that they aren’t crazy and that I believe their subjective complaints. So giving them a tribe of people who are also suffering with similar complaints can be powerful. It can also be a catch-22, as they tend to be super active in such things and will come asking questions, “well, what about X?” So you also have to be either very confident in your skills OR be wiling to chase all the proverbial rabbits the patient brings to your attention. This is also going on dizziness/vertigo resource page.
One can never have too many resources in this day and age of free and accessible information of the world wide web. As a general neuro practitioner in a medium sized town, it would not benefit me or my community for me to specialize in one particular diagnosis. BUT if I can point people in the right direction with some good resources, they can find their specific expert or become their own expert. And that will do.
