Why: “At the conclusion of this course, participants will be better able to:
— Describe the broad phenotypic spectrum, pathophysiology and mechanisms for possible exercise intervention in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
— Exhibit an understanding of the role and current evident for exercise in SMA.
— Select and apply appropriate strengthening and aerobic conditioning activities according to phenotypic function.
— Determine the appropriate use of aquatic and alternative/concomitant therapies to properly treat and manage patients in SMA
How: $200 for physicians, $150 for all other professions. Approved for 7.5 hours CCU for NY PTs. NJ PT board approval is pending.
